Examples of subproblems in the developmet of curricula in higher education

1. To translate new developments in the professional field to renew the existing curriculum.
2. To improve the relationships between the curriculum activities and the professional field.
3. To translate the policies of the university or faculty board.
4. To include ICT in the existing education.
5. To design and develop a complete new program based on real needs from society and/or professional field.
6. To prepare a Self study for the existing curriculum.
7. To react on the results of the quality assurance system.
8. To apply results of educational research.

   • Er zijn eigen wensen van de universiteit of een opleiding: nieuwe opleiding, aanpakken van gesignaleerde problemen (uit de Kwaliteitszorg), nieuwe wensen voor verbetering/vernieuwing/updating van de opleiding of van de docenten, wensen van het CvB of faculteit of van de studenten.

My thesis is that in all approaching all subproblems a systematic description of the curriculum is a condition for achieving an useful result in a minimum of time which can be explained to all involved groups. It means you know where you talk about, you know the relevant evidence from research and experiences and what will be the collateral effects of certain measures.
