5. Establihing a relationship: designing human-product interaction.

  1. Core element of expertise in ViP design consists in understanding what kind of relationship or interaction, fits a specific context.
  2. not direct in possible solutions wb the product. Lead to superficiality.
  3. Without knowing hoe the final product will look like: come up with your vision of the relationship user/product. The interaction mediates between user and product. To find this interaction is a core design activity.
describe user concerns, needs and desires and matching product qualities.
  4. Defines how the product is used and experienced and the form the relationships between user and product ????????????
  5. How can you design  the appropriate interaction? Express the interaction in words, images, movies, drawings, …. Try to come up with interaction definitions: try to optimize the idea. Starting point are the words in the statement.
  6. Think in analogies, use your intuition, sleep a night over, try to indicate words which characterise the interaction. Appropriateness is a key criterion. Formulate the most effective and meaningful interaction that serve your purpose.
  7. The statements indicates what the product will offer. The interaction description tell us how it will be offered. (The product is just a means to accomplish what you as a company want to bring to people in the future.
  8. Both statement and interaction are based on a range of insights of what (some) people need, render important, would like to see happen of find difficult to handle. These peoples insights, captured in principles or trends, from the basis of the statement and interaction and determine to a large extent for whom the future product is appropriate  or inappropriate.
  9. To realise this interaction, the product needs to have certain qualities (step 6).
